Glenview 'Heros' Honored
Bob Roberts Reporting

GLENVIEW, Ill. (WBBM) -- A Glenbrook South High School student and two of his friends were honored this morning at the school for saving an elderly woman's life earlier this month in Glenview.
As WBBM was first to report, Tom Foust, 17, pulled as 83-year old woman from her car September 8th after it got stuck on train tracks -6 seconds before one train, then another, smashed into the vehicle.
They were only ten-feet from the train when he put her on the ground and shielded her from the debris.
His friends --Tyler Brown,16, and Zach Demertzis,15 -- were driving in a car behind Foust and followed him after he got out of his car.
They pounded on her car window and finally opened the door.
The woman was apparently unaware of the impending danger and concerned about getting her car off the tracks.
Principal Brian Wegley said during the press conference that the three are more than heroes, they're leaders, and people look up to them.
Congressman Mark Kirk dubbed them the "Glenview Good Guys", and described the scene as a rescue right out of a Hollywood movie.
He and other leaders credited the trio's parents, saying they obviously did a good job raising them.
Village President Kerry Cummings said the community couldn't ask for more than what they did, and called the situation 'nothing short of a miracle.'
