Bond Set For Hoffman Estates Man Who Ran Onto Wrigley Field

Bond was set Friday at $20,000 for a Hoffman Estates man who faces upgraded charges alleging he ran onto Wrigley Field earlier this month after his buddies agreed to pay him $400.

Kevin Kleine had been charged with illegal conduct within a sports facility, a violation of city ordinance, and with possession of cannabis after he running onto Wrigley Field on June 1, according to Cook County State’s Attorney’s office spokesman Andy Conklin.

But those two charges, both misdemeanors, were dropped because Kleine is now charged with felony criminal trespass to a public place of amusement, Conklin said.

Kleine, 22, of Hoffman Estates, appeared Friday before Cook County Criminal Court Thomas J. Hennelly, who set bond at $20,000, Conklin said. A preliminary hearing was slated for July 5 in North Felony Court (Br. 42), 2452 W. Belmont.

According to court records, Kleine and his friends were at a Cubs game against Atlanta on June 1 at Wrigley Field, when his friends agreed to pay him $400 for running onto the field. Kleine was quickly apprehended on the field.
