Man struck by Red Line train: police
|
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Power was cut on the CTA Red Line tracks early Saturday after a train struck a man on the Far North Side, police said.
The incident happened about 4:50 a.m. at the Red Line Loyola station at 1200 W. Loyola Ave., police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
The man was unresponsive on the tracks after reportedly being struck by a train, Greer said. Power was cut to the Red Line tracks as crews worked to remove the man from the tracks.
Red Line trains in both directions are only operating between the 95th Street and Bryn Mawr stations, according to the CTA’s Web site. Bus shuttle service is available between the Howard and Bryn Mawr stations.
Delays are expected and passengers should allow extra travel time, the CTA said.
Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
