Packed elevator stalls in Loop hotel
|
CHICAGO (STNG) -- Several people were reportedly stuck in an elevator that apparently stalled at the W Hotel in the Loop early Friday.
Police officers and crews from the Chicago Fire Department responded about 2 a.m. to the hotel, 172 W. Adams St., where people were in an elevator that became stalled, according to police. The elevator did not fall and no one was hurt, according to police.
Fire Department spokesman Will Knight said crews opened the doors to the elevator and said they didn't take anyone to a hospital.
W Hotel spokesman Justin Sullivan declined to comment and referred inquiries to a general manager for the hotel who was not immediately available.
Unconfirmed dispatch reports indicated there were as many as 30 people inside the elevator.
