LOS ANGELES (WBBM) -- A U.S. magistrate judge in Los Angeles Friday increased bond and ordered house arrest for the Westmont insurance executive accused of secretly making peephole nude videos of ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and other women.
Despite the limitations, the attorney representing 48-year-old Michael Barrett promptly tendered the cash needed to free Barrett on $100,000 bond.
Los Angeles U.S. Attorney's office spokesman Thom Mrozek said the magistrate ordered Barrett placed on an electronic monitor, and also ordered Barrett to stay off the Internet.
Barrett returns to the same courtroom at 11 a.m. Chicago time Monday for arraignment. Attorney David Willingham is expected to enter a plea of not guilty for Barrett.
Barrett is charged with making videos of Andrews through the peephole in her hotel room door, and federal prosecutors say he uploaded to the Internet nude videos of other women also made through peepholes.
Barrett was arrested after he allegedly tried to sell the Andrews videos to celebrity gossip site TMZ.
