Popular Holiday Program In Lake County In Big Trouble

CHICAGO (WBBM)  -- A popular holiday program in Lake County Illinois is in big trouble, and the recession is to blame. WBBM's Felicia Middlebrooks reports

The Catholic Charities Adopt a Family Christmas Gift program has hit a financial snag. Jim Wogan who runs it, tells the Daily Herald he's on a mission to find some Christmas Angels to come up with some cash. The charity's list of families in need has increased by one thousand. Wogan says the last two years have been pretty tough but this year is far worse than last year.

Thousands of kids won't be getting visits from Santa if contributions to the 23 year old Adopt a Family don't come through soon. Anyone who wants to donate clothing or toys should contact Jim Wogan at Catholic Charities.
