Thief attacks, robs employee at Cubby Bear
|
CHICAGO (STNG) -- An employee of Wrigleyville’s Cubby Bear lounge was beaten and robbed by a man who broke into the bar early Friday morning.
About 2:30 a.m., an armed man gained entry to the Cubby Bear at 1059 W. Addison St. and tied up a man -- reportedly an employee of the bar -- before striking him on the head an unknown object, police News Affairs Officer JoAnn Taylor said.
The suspect showed the employee his gun and took his wallet, Taylor said. The employee managed to escape as the suspect searched the bar’s office.
It was not clear if the man stole anything else from the bar.
The employee was treated and released from Thorek Memorial Hospital, Taylor said.
The suspect, who was dressed in all black, was a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, police said.
Cubby Bear management could not be reached for comment Friday morning.
Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
