CHICAGO (STNG) -- A tow truck driver died Thursday night after he was run over by his truck in an auto yard on the West Side, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’ s Office.
Danny Quizati, 29, of the 1400 block of E. 72nd Place, was run over by a tow truck at 4555 W. North Ave., according to a spokesman for the medical examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead at 8:54 p.m. at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
The incident happened about 8:15 p.m. Thursday, when the man was unloading a vehicle from his tow truck and the truck slipped into gear, striking and running over the drive, according to police.
U-Pull It Auto Parts is listed at the North Avenue address.
An autopsy is scheduled for later Friday.
Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
