CHICAGO (STNG) -- Police are looking for a man who attacked a woman while he was still in his Halloween costume early Sunday morning in the North Center neighborhood on the North Side.
The woman was walking in the 2300 block of West Addison Street at 3:15 a.m. when a male offender grabbed her from behind and dragged her to a gangway. He then attempted to assault her, according to a community alert from Belmont Area detectives.
The woman screamed and fought the offender with a camera she was carrying. The offender fled when a friend came to the aid of the victim, the alert said.
The offender was wearing a Halloween costume described as a black and orange "zebra" striped coat over all black clothing, the alert said.
He is described as a 27-30-year old black man, approximately six-foot-one, 180 pounds. He has short black hair, brown eyes, dark complexion and a goatee, according to the alert. He may have a cut on the corner of his left eye or temple that he sustained during the attack.
