CROWN POINT, Ind. (STNG) -- Don't talk to police with your mouth full. A Hammond, Ind. man who approached police with a drug-filled baggie in his mouth was sentenced to ten years in prison Tuesday.
On April 7, two Hammond police officers saw Akieme Morgan, 31, on May Street. Morgan walked up to their squad car and while he was talking, the officers noticed a clear plastic bag fly out of his mouth and land on the ground, according to a release from the Lake County, Ind. Prosecutor's office.
Morgan was arrested and the officers also found a clear plastic bag in his left pocket with 15 smaller bags of cocaine inside, the release said.
Morgan pleaded guilty to charges for dealing cocaine on Oct. 6, the day his trial was to begin, according to the release.
