CHICAGO (STNG) -- Police are seeking a silver Lexus in a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a Chicago woman early Sunday on the North Side.
The incident occurred about 3:40 a.m. at North Lincoln and West Cullom avenues, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
Rachel Gilliam, 25, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 4:02 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Gilliam, a pedestrian, was struck by a silver-colored Lexus that did not stop and continued south on Lincoln Avenue according to multiple witnesses, police said.
Gilliam's family was scheduled to formally identify her later Monday, a spokesman for the Medical Examiner's office said. An autopsy is also slated for Monday.
The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
