Dentist offers cash for Halloween candy

(WBBM) -- Kids, don't eat another Tootsie Roll!  All that Halloween candy is as good as cash.

A Bensenville dentist will pay a dollar a pound for it.

He's Dr. Cary Blumberg.  And he's hosting his third annual candy buy-back program.

He says kids typically get between five and ten pounds of candy.

Whatever he pays to the kids, he says,  he makes a matching contribution to UNICEF.

And all that candy  is sent overseas to US soldiers.

He'll accept candy all week at 229 West Grand Avenue in Bensenville.
