Woman killed in hit-and-run accident on North Side

CHICAGO (STNG) -- A woman in her 20's was reportedly killed when she was struck by a car in the North Center neighborhood on the North Side early Sunday.
The hit-and-run occurred at 3:40 a.m. at North Lincoln and West Cullom avenues, according to police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 20's who had not been identified as of about 7:40 a.m., was struck by a silver-colored vehicle that did not stop and continued southbound on Lincoln, police said.
She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she died about 4 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez said. A representative from the Cook County Medical Examiner's office was not immediately available as of about 7:40 a.m. to confirm the death.
The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the accident.
