CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Newsradio 780 has learned that the Cook County medical examiner's office is ruling the death of former Blagojevich aide Chris Kelly a suicide.
Sources say Kelly died from an overdose of a combination of over-the-counter medications.
The ME's office was waiting for toxicology results before making an official ruling of suicide.
Kelly was 51. He died September 12 at Stroger Hospital, after ingesting substances - apparently as he was surrounded by photos of his children in an storage area of a south suburban business.
He had pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges just days before and was expected to be a key witness in the trial of Rod Blagojevich.
