Suburban man charged after attempting to meet young girl for sex

WHEATON, Ill. (STNG) -- A Schaumburg man has been charged with soliciting a child after attempting to meet a young girl for sex in west suburban Carol Stream — only to be met by an undercover officer waiting for his arrest.
The man, 23-year-old Joseph Morganti, of Schaumburg, was charged Friday with indecent solicitation of a child, a class 3 felony, according to a Carol Stream police release.
Morganti allegedly made contact with an undercover Carol Stream police officer, posing as a 15-year-old girl, via online exchanges, the release said.
Morganti allegedly expressed interest in meeting the girl for sex in Carol Stream and was arrested by officers Friday at the pre-arranged meeting point, the release said.
Police seized his cellular phone and car and a search warrant executed at his home led to the seizure of his personal computer, the release said.
Morganti was taken to the DuPage County Jail for a bond hearing following his arrest.
Court information was not immediately available Monday morning.
