Boy recovering after shooting
|
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Chicago Police say no one is in custody - after an 8-year-old boy was shot from outside as he sat in his home near an upstairs window, watching television.

Doctors at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital expect 8-year-old Jonmel Galloway will make a full recovery.
"He definitely is a lucky little boy, and definitely things could've been a lot worse than they were."
Dr. Tracy Koogler is the medical director of the pediatric intensive care unit.
She says Jonmel had gunshot injuries in his left arm and chest.
Jonmel's father Walter Walker says he's relieved at the good prognosis.
"I was by his bedside all night, me and his mom, and I told him to stay strong, because it's up to you to do this (I said). It's up to you. Stay strong.
"And he did."
Walker says the family had already planned to move from their home in Englewood, near 65th and Green.
