|
SKOKIE, Ill. (STNG) -- Traffic was backed up on the northbound Edens Expressway early Wednesday afternoon following what Illinois State Police are calling a serious crash in north suburban Skokie.
The accident happened about 12:40 p.m. on the northbound Edens near Lincoln Avenue, according to an Illinois State Police District Chicago trooper. As of about 1:20 p.m., traffic was getting by very slowly as state police investigate.
The trooper did not have details on the crash as of about 1:20 p.m., other than it was a "serious personal injury crash with a possible fatality."
A spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said that as of about 1:25 p.m. the office had not been notified of a fatality from the Edens crash.
