Four arrested in Channahon shootings
|
Four people have been arrested in connection with Tuesday's shooting of a man and woman in Channahon.
Channahon police said they will hold a press conference at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a police release.
Details on the suspects and the charges they will face will be released at the press conference.
Early Tuesday, a home invasion occurred at an apartment in the 25000 block of Blackberry Lane near Bridge Street.
"There were signs of forced entry," Channahon Chief Joe Pena said.
The apartment's residents, a 21-year-old man and 19-year-old woman, both had been shot in the head during the home invasion.
The victims' cell phones were taken before the assailant left, and the wounded woman ran to a neighbor's home for help.
On Tuesday, the male victim was in critical, but stable, condition at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. The woman was treated and released.
Pena said police do not believe the attack was a random incident.
The newly formed Will-Grundy Major Crimes Task Force was called in to assist in the investigation. Thirty-four detectives and evidence technicians canvassed the neighborhood and worked the scene of the task force's first assignment.
