Woman sexually molested at River North hotel: suit
|
CHICAGO (STNG) - A River North hotel is being sued after a guest claims she was sexually molested during a massage therapy session.
A seven-count negligence lawsuit was filed against The Chicago LLC, Westin Chicago River North Hotel, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc., and Larry Gonzalez.
Natasha Skinner was a guest at the Westin Chicago River North Hotel, 320 N. Dearborn St., attending a message therapy session when her male masseuse sexually molested her, according to the suit filed Tuesday in Cook County Circuit Court. The molestation happened on Feb. 15, the suit said.
The suit states the staff at Westin and Starwood scheduled the massage therapy session with Gonzalez, the male masseuse.
Westin and Starwood failed to provide adequate supervision of Gonzalez, allowed a male masseuse to be alone in a room with a female guest, and didn’t provide reasonable safeguards to protect Skinner, the suit said.
Since the molestation, Skinner has been unable to attend to her usual and customary affairs of life, the suit said.
The actions of Gonzalez also caused Skinner to experience severe emotional distress, the suit said.
