Food is the crime tool of choice for suburban vandals
|
(WBBM) - Food appears to be the choice of at least two sets of vandals in the suburbs.
In Aurora, a 23-year-old woman woke last week to find her Chevy hit covered in barbecue sauce and pickles. She cleaned off her car and parked it in her driveway closer to her home, the Chicago Tribune reported.
The next day, once again, her car was covered in food. She apparently believes she is the victim of revenge, telling police she recently had to confront a woman over her interest in the victim’s boyfriend.
Two weeks ago at a home in Lindenhurst, the garage and driveway were covered with eggs, tomato juice, bologna, bacon and chocolate syrup.
Pizza was found on the roof of the home in the 800 block of Wedgwood Court.
Police were investigating a rash of vandalism to mailboxes and a minivan that occurred the same night on the 1800 block of Fairfield Road in Lindenhurst.
Five mailboxes were knocked down or destroyed and a hole was poked into the bumper of a minivan parked in a driveway. Police interviewed victims and neighbors, but no one heard or saw anything.
