FBI joins search for 2008 murder suspect
|
CHICAGO (STNG) -- The FBI has joined the search for a Blue Island man wanted for a September 2008 murder on the city’s South Side.
Jarell Q. Griffin, 23, is wanted by Chicago Police for the September 2008 shooting death of a Dolton man, who was killed during an apparent robbery attempt, according to an FBI release.
Griffin, whose last know address was 12219 S. Vincennes in Blue Island, was charged in an arrest warrant with one count of first-degree murder on April 20. On April 23, a federal warrant was issued charging Griffin with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution after authorities learned the may have fled the state, the release said. He has friends and family residing in the Slidell, La., area and in California.
Griffin is described as a black male 6-foot-3 and 155 pounds with a thin build, black hair and brown eyes. He is known to use the alias “J,” the release said.
