One in custody for firing shots at police



CHICAGO (STNG)  -- A person who reportedly fired shots at police was taken into custody Saturday night on the South Side.

The incident began at 5:57 p.m. when somebody fired shots at police near East 79th Street and South Wabash Avenue, police said.

Officers reportedly apprehended the suspect and took him into custody by 6:10 p.m., police said.

No officers were injured, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.

It was not yet known if officers fired shots and further details were not immediately available.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
