CHICAGO (STNG) -- A United Airlines flight attendant was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly rubbed the hand of a 16-year-old passenger and made inappropriate comments to the boy during a flight from Los Angeles to Chicago.
Jaime Daria Samia, 57, of Long Beach, Calif., was charged with misdemeanor battery and released on $100 bond, police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said Wednesday morning. He was arrested at O'Hare International Airport about 1:05 p.m. Tuesday after the flight landed about noon.
The boy's father told police that Samia rubbed the boy's hand and made inappropriate remarks, continuing the behavior throughout the four-hour flight, Kubiak said. The boy pulled his hand away and told Samia to stop.
Further details were unavailable.
Samia is scheduled to appear in Branch 23 of Cook County Criminal Court on Aug. 11.
