CHICAGO (STNG) -- Chicago Fire Department paramedics arrived just in time to deliver a child, a birth police said may have happened inside a car near the Field Museum on the Near South Side early Friday.
At 4:30 a.m., paramedics were called to 1400 S. Lake Shore Dr. to assist with the delivery of a baby, according to Fire Media Affairs Cmdr. Will Knight.
Knight did not immediately know the circumstances of the delivery, but a Central District police captain said the child may have been born inside a car.
Mother and child were then transported to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Knight said.
