CHICAGO (WBBM) -- A suburban Chicago bank is suing NBA player Antoine Walker, accusing him of being a deadbeat on several mortgages he personally guaranteed.
Walker who has homes in Chicago and Miami, owns a company called AW Realty. Northbrook-based CenTrust Bank says as part of that venture, his company took out 3 mortgages worth over a million and a half million dollars. The bank's lawyer, Kelly Saindon, says Walker is now on the hook for that money since he personally guaranteed the loans.
At 32 years old, Walker was released at the end of last year by the Memphis Grizzlies and is now a free agent. Two years ago, he was in the news when he and a companion were robbed at gunpoint by two men who broke into his Chicago townhouse. Last month, one of the robbers was sentenced to 21 years in prison.
