Man injured in North Side shooting

CHICAGO (STNG)  -- A man was injured Wednesday morning in a shooting in the North Side Jefferson Park neighborhood.

Paramedics responded to 5701 N. Nagle Ave. about 9:12 a.m. to reports of a shooting, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis.

A woman called her husband, who was in Nevada, and told him that her ex-husband was at the door. The husband called police requesting a well-being check, a police News Affairs spokesman said.

Responding officers found a man shot when they arrived at the home.

One person was taken in "extremely critical" condition to Resurrection Medical Center, Curtis said.

Police are investigating whether the victim was the woman's ex-husband and trying to determine what happened.
