Man dies after diving into hotel pool
|
CHICAGO (STNG) -- An Arizona man died Wednesday morning after diving into a pool and hitting his head on the bottom more than week earlier at a hotel near O’Hare Airport.
Gordon Hyde, 35, of Queen Creek, Ariz, was injured in the pool at the Chicago Marriot O’Hare hotel, 8535 Higgins Road, on May 25, according to a Cook County Medical Examiner’s office spokesman.
He died more than a week later on June 3 at 2 a.m. at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, the spokesman said.
An autopsy conducted Wednesday determined Hyde died of cervical spinal injuries from diving into a pool and his death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner’s office.
