Bus company no stranger to unruly drivers
Jan Coleman Reporting
CHICAGO, Ill. (WBBM) -- Four drivers employed by the First Student School Bus company - have been in the news this month. In an incident Friday, a First Student driver was shot to death by police after he led officers on a wild chase through the South Suburbs.
His employer says driver Ron Newsom showed up for work with an, "attitude problem." They ordered him to go home, instead he hijacked a bus and drove off from the company's South Holland facility. He tried to ram police in Glenwood -- they opened fire.
Driver, Ned Musselman allegedly dropped his pants in front of 5th grade girl on May 7. On the same day, another driver forced a 13-year old girl off a bus, leaving her in an unfamiliar neighborhood, because she didn't have permission from the school to ride. Both drivers picked up kids in District 204, covering parts of Naperville, Aurora, Bolingbrook and Plainfield.
Last Thursday, driver, Mario Meschino of Plainfield was charged with distributing child porn over the internet. He's being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.
