LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- The Chicago Bears have taken San Jose State defensive end Jarron Gilbert with their first selection of the 2009 NFL draft.
Gilbert, a 6-foot-5, 288-pounder, was selected Sunday with the fourth pick of the third round, the 68th pick overall.
The Bears had traded their first-round pick in a deal with Denver for quarterback Jay Cutler, then traded down out of the second round on Saturday for Seattle's third-round pick and a fourth-round pick.
The Gilbert selection was made with the pick Seattle traded to Chicago.
Second choice (No. 99 overall) is receiver Juaquin Iglesias of Oklahoma, then 6-4, 227-pound defensive end Henry Melton (No. 105) of Texas. Melton is a former running back. The fourth choice is cornerback D.J. Moore (No. 119) of Vanderbilt. The Bears chose another wide receiver, Johnny Knox of Abeline Christian in Round 5 (No. 140). The Bears closed Round 5 with outside linebacker Marcus Clark of Ohio State (No. 154).
