CHICAGO (AP) - Gov. Pat Quinn says he's all for capping campaign contributions.
That's one of the tentative recommendations from a reform commission Quinn himself launched to cope with corruption allegations many say have made Illinois a laughingstock.
But at a Chicago news conference Tuesday, Quinn stopped short of saying he backed all the specific recommendations. They include capping individual campaign contributions at $2,400.
Quinn says debate should play out over the proposals. But he expects them to be ``the heart and soul'' of any new laws.
The governor adds he'll testify before the commission himself later this week to offer his own reform ideas.
Quinn took over after former Gov. Rod Blagojevich was removed from office amid corruption allegations.
