A Chicago woman has filed a lawsuit against several police officers claiming they beat her for no reason. The lawyer for 52-year-old Dolores Robare, pictured below after the alleged attack, says his client was crossing Ashland Avenue near Lawrence last August when she almost was hit by a car driven by a Cook County sheriffs police officer.
The suit claims the officer then slammed on the brakes and jumped out of the car. He then allegedly attacked Robare, put her in handcuffs and threw her to the ground. According to the suit two Chicago police officers then showed up at the scene and joined in the assault.
Robare claims the officers went on to file false police reports indicating Robare had attacked the officers in question.
