A Master Gardener for over 15 years, Denise Corkery has been a horticultural writer at the Chicago Botanic Garden since April of 2007.
In addition to her weekly gardening tips for Newsradio 780 WBBM, Denise writes weekly and monthly columns for Chicago-area newspapers, a monthly column for the Garden’s e-newsletter, and has served as a judge for the Chicago Tribune’s Glorious Gardens contest.
Denise has provided gardening advice to visitors and taught classes on the importance of good soil, summer flowering trees and shrubs, and the best perennials for Chicago-area gardens
An avid home gardener, Denise enjoys planning, planting and caring for a 30-foot balcony garden in the city, and a large garden in Michigan.
She loves knowing a garden is never really done, and that each year it presents unexpected pleasures, new problems to solve, and another chance to make one or two more changes.
