Jealously Possible Motive In Trucker Murder
Steve Miller Reporting
|
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- New details are out this afternoon about a murder in a Burr Ridge trucking office a month ago.
The victim: 38-year-old Jason Dragos.
The man charged: 45-year-old John Gilbert, who was Dragos's boss at Saia Inc., a trucking company in Burr Ridge.
DuPage County State's Attorney Joe Birkett tells Newsradio 780 that Gilbert summoned Dragos to the office on a weekend a month ago - and shot him - then, posing as Dragos, sent an email to others in the company, saying Dragos was resigning.
"We obviously believe that Gilbert in some way, shape or form felt threatened by Jason Dragos, who was a relatively new employee who was climbing fast up the corporate ladder."
A source close to the investigation says Gilbert was arrested after he talked about some details of the murder - statements made to an acquaintance who was wearing a wire.
