Bond Set For Teacher Accused Of Sex With Student
|
CHICAGO (STNG) -- A female teacher is being held on $110,000 bond after being charged with the sexual assault of a 15-year-old student at a Northwest Side school for troubled youth.
The bond was set Saturday for Linda Pithyou, 29, of 3723 W. Devon in Chicago, who is charged with one count criminal sexual assault, a Class A felony, according to Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin.
She was arrested and charged on Friday, according to police.
According to court records, Pithyou and her victim, a male student at Lawrence Hall Youth Services at 4833 N. Francisco, met on multiple occasions in Pithyou's car near Sheridan and Pratt.
Pithyou, a teacher at Lawrence Hall, allegedly drank alcohol, smoked marijuana and engaged in oral sex sexual intercourse with the boy. On several of those occasions, Pithyou's 16-month-old son was in the car with them, Conklin said, citing court records.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 13 in Violence Court (Br. 66) at 26th and California, Conklin said. Pithyou faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
