Lake County Burglary Suspect Arrested
|
(ZION, Ill.) Police have a person in custody who they believe is responsible for a string of burglaries throughout Lake County and Wisconsin.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the suspect or formally charged the individual until an investigation is concluded.
Zion police Chief Larry Booth said his department, along with the Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Waukegan Police Department, have been investigating multiple burglaries at businesses that occurred in recent weeks.
Booth said the suspect was captured early Wednesday morning after officers tracked footprints in the snow from a recent break-in. He said the burglaries occurred mostly late at night or early in the morning at businesses in Zion, Waukegan, Beach Park and Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
More information is expected to be released Thursday, police said.
