CHICAGO (STNG) - A man who was trying to deliver pizza was shot during an attempted robbery early Tuesday on the South Side.
The shooting happened about 1 a.m. when a man was delivering pizza in the 8900 block of South Clyde Avenue, according to a Calumet Area detective.
When the deliveryman, who is in his 30s, arrived with the food and met the “customer” he became suspicious because the man said he didn’t have any money, according to Calumet Area detectives.
He tried to pull away in the vehicle he was driving but the attacker shot him in the arm, according to detectives, who said no money was taken.
The man drove himself to South Shore Hospital where he was treated and released.
The shooter was not in custody Tuesday morning.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
