City's First Sunday Parking Meter Non-Holiday Causes Confusion

CHICAGO (WBBM) - To feed, or not to feed? That was the question from drivers about Chicago parking meters.

Yesterday was the first Sunday that meters have ever had to be fed with coins in Chicago under the new 24/7 rule, but that policy remains unclear.

The stickers on meters that Newsradio 7680looked at in the Loop still reflect the old Monday through Saturday deal.  Drivers were taking their chances, and leaving those meters unfed, despite the new policy which went into effect on January 1st now that the city's parking meter program has been privatized.

Chicago police recognize the confusion, and at roll call Sunday, decided they would not issue tickets at meters which still have the old stickers.  They will give drivers a break next Sunday too.  But starting Sunday, January 18th, all bets are off, and tickets will be issued where meters are left unfed.

Parking tickets
Why would the police be issuing tickets if the meters aren't the city's anymore?

SO LAME!
I mad about the increase but not changing the stickers and still giving out tickets seems...I don't know illegal?
