BERWYN --  One man is dead and four other people were injured in a Saturday night crash.

Phillip Johnson, 58, of  Highland in Berwyn, was involved in a crash at 26th Street and Gunderson Avenue and was pronounced dead at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood via telemetry at 7:12 p.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner said. An autopsy is scheduled .

The crash, involving two moving cars and seven parked vehicles, happened just before 7 p.m., Berwyn Fire Department Deputy Chief James Zahrobsky said.

Four other people are in Loyola Medical Center, Zahrobsky said. Three people were in one of the moving cars and one person was in the other. The fifth person was inside one of the parked cars, Zahrobsky said. All the victims are adults.

Fire personnel had to extricate the victims from the moving vehicles, Zahrobsky said. They remained on the scene into the night.

“Our firemen did a great job cutting open the cars,” he said.
