Charges Come in November CVS Child Abduction

CHICAGO -- A Northwest Side woman is formally charged with kidnapping for allegedly taking a 3-year-old girl from a CVS pharmacy last month in the Avondale neighborhood.

Jeanette Roldan, 44, of the 3900 block of West Wellington Avenue was indicted on one charge of aggravated kidnapping, according to Cook County State's Attorney's office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton.

She is scheduled for arraignment at 9 a.m. on Dec. 29 in Cook County Criminal Court at 26th and California, Simonton said.

Sana Patel walked out of a CVS Pharmacy at 3311 N. Pulaski Road about 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 10. The girl had been playing inside by the doors of the store while family members shopped. A security camera showed a woman talking with the girl, and then leaving the store with her, police said.

Sana was safely found in an alley near North Kostner and West Wellington avenues about 9:20 p.m. after a tip was called in, according to police.
