CHICAGO (STNG) -- A little more than a year after it closed for renovation as part of the CTA's rehabbing of the Brown Line, the Irving Park Brown Line station will reopen this weekend.
The station, closed on Dec. 3, 2007, will reopen on Saturday at 4 a.m.
In addition to new elevators, the CTA reconfigured the inbound and outbound platforms to make them longer, wider and able to accommodate eight-car trains.
Other amenities include accessible turnstiles, brighter lighting, refurbished canopies and benches, new auxiliary exits, new signs -- including Braille signs -- and a bike rack.
