Show-And-Tell Lands Joliet Student Behind Bars

(JOLIET, Ill.) Police say a southwest suburban student's show-and-tell resulted in felony drug charges Monday.

Joliet police officers were called to Joliet Central High School after faculty "received information" that a 15-year-old boy allegedly was showing other students a bag of cannabis he was carrying.

One officer went to the boy's sixth-period class and asked him to step outside. When the teen was asked if he had any cannabis, he reportedly gave the officer a bag containing 8.43 grams.

The juvenile was booked into the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance near a school or park.
