Cheaper Gas Nice, Better Economy Would Be Nicer

CHICAGO (WBBM) - Low gas prices are nice, but hardly make up for the souring economy.

100 per cent of those Newsradoi 780 spoke with at the BP station on Lake Park Avenue in Hyde Park acknowledged they can use money saved on gas to buy other things for the family.

Jennifer says lower gas prices make it easier to be a soccer mom and get her kids to away-games in travel soccer.

Roman, a self employed contractor says he's saving a lot of money on all the gas his SUV requires.

College student Tom says it's nice to save a little at the pump because he's short of money most of the time anyway.

But Jennifer says lower gas prices do not make up for the bad economy.

Roman says if the economy picked up he'd be happy to pay more for gas.

Tom says while he saves on gas, the economy makes it harder to pay tuition. He says his retired parents have lost a substantial portion of their investments from which they were funding his education.

100% response to the question:- each and everyone WBBM talked to indicated they'd take an improved economy over lower gas prices any day, and prefereably sooner than later.
