Stretch Your Dollar: Fabulous Freebies

CHICAGO (CBS) ― Times are tough right now, but if you're short of cash, CBS 2 has found some fabulous freebies that can help you "Stretch Your Dollar."

First of all, check out "Skype," an Internet phone service where you can talk for free. Just download some free software here and you're ready to go.

Looking for a phone number? Skip traditional 411 in favor of  1-800-FREE411.  You'll have to listen to a 12-second commercial but you'll save a dollar or more every time you use it.

Thinking of learning a foreign language? You can find beginner programs for seven languages by logging on to the BBC website.

On kidsmealdeals.com, you can find local restaurants that feed kids for free.

And, if you like to travel, check out couchsurfing.com, where travelers hook up with locals who don't mind having someone stay for free.

Culture vultures can find freebies right here in Chicago. Most museums offer free days. At the Art Institute, it's Thursday. Enjoy.
