Effort To Draft Tom Cross For Gov. Launched

(WBBM) - There is a new Web site that is attempting to recruit Illinois’ House Minority Leader--Republican Tom Cross--for higher office.

WBBM Suburban Bureau Chief Julie Mann reports:

Jake Parillo of Elmhurst knows the Internet and Oswego Republican State Rep. Tom Cross.

Parillo worked in the lawmaker's office for several years and is a public relations manager for Google.

So, over the weekend, reportedly without talking to Rep. Cross, he launched a Web site called It's Time for Tom--www.itstimefortom.com--in hope of drumming up support to convince Cross to run for Governor.

A spokesman for Cross tells the Beacon News the Republican House Leader is flattered but focused on his current job in Springfield.
