Bears Blog Nov. 3: Orton Update

ORTON'S CONDITION
Only saying Kyle Orton has a right ankle injury, Bears head coach Lovie Smith refused to offer much more than that nor would he speculate on how long Orton might miss, or if he will miss any time.

"I wouldn't be quick to rush and start trying to play...I'm not playing doctor, you shouldn't either," Smith said. "You should let us come and tell you once we know for sure what the injury is."

Orton had tests Monday morning with more to come before an official diagnosis.  This is not expected to be a long-term nor season ending injury. Speculation from broadcast and published reports is Orton suffered a high right ankle sprain and could miss a month.

•Safety Mike Brown has a calf injury and could miss some time.
WR Brandon Lloyd (sprained knee), LB Hunter Hillenmeyer (thumb), and S Daniel Manning-2MG (hamstring) all will try to return Sunday against the unbeaten Titans.
