CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Aldermen have given preliminary approval to an ordinance that would ban the sale or possession of tiny plastic bags often used by drug dealers.
WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore reports the City Council Health Committee has okayed the measure
The bags are two-inch, sealable, plastic and stamped with little logos, like hearts, spiders or superhero symbols. And 2nd Ward Alderman Bob Fioretti says, in his area, they’re used to hold crack cocaine and heroin. Many are decorated with little logos that police say identify the kind of drugs contained within.
One Alderman previously questioned suggested some of the bags have a legitimate use, like holding extra buttons for clothing. But, Fioretti says it’s clear what the ones found strewn across city parks are used for, and the Council must do what it can to thwart the users.

....is laughing at you!!!, this is just idiotic, I have LOTS of these bags, I get them when I purchase watch parts...this is the same reasoning that making guns illegal for law abiding citizens will stop criminals from committing gun crime. so whats nextwill you stop the scourge of car accidents by making cars illegal? maybe a $10/gal tax on gas?.. uh oh, I may have just given these ding-dongs an idea...
