Oct. 9: Harris Back

APOLOGY ACCEPTED

After getting reprimanded for repeated violations of unspecificed team rules, Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris returned from his one-game suspension to practice albeit on a limit basis Wednesday. Harris meet with reporters off the practice field admitting to missing football.

"It feels great," Harris said. "You never know how much you miss it until it's taken away from you. I've apologized to my teammates and I apologize to my fans. Just getting everything together getting ready to have a strong season."

Harris feels he's been out of whack spiritually for a variety of reasons.

"I think spiritually that's what led to all that. My conviction is terrible and I carry a lot of stress and different things that I know I shouldn't. That's what happens when you disconnect with your source. And I feel like I'm going back to what's worked for me in the beginning. That's where I'm at. Just pray for me. Don't talk about me, just pray for me."

When asked if he will play against the Falcons, Harris said, "Ask Coach Smith. That's who makes the decisions. I practiced today, I feel good, we'll see where it goes from there."

INJURIES

In addition to Harris (left knee), cornerback Charles Tillman (shoulder), and cornerback Nathan Vasher (hand) were limited in practice. Defensive tackle Anthony Adams (ankle), receiver Brandon Lloyd( knee), and linebacker Nick Roach (shoulder) did not practice.

Vasher is not sure if he will be able to tackle after a surgical procedure on his hand last week. He missed the Lions game, but is practicing this week.

"I think that's what practice this week will show," said Vasher. "It will show up on tape definitely if I'll be able to be functional and help our team win. I mean the last thing you want to do is go out there and not perform as well."
