ADDISON, Ill. (WBBM) -- A suburban limo company has been inundated with support following news that one of their drivers turned in a bunch of North Shore High School students for underage drinking over homecoming weekend. They also received angry calls from some of the kid's parents. More on the story from WBBM’s suburban bureau chief Julie mann.

Alex Mish is the General Manager of Any Time limo in Addison. It was one of his limo drivers who called police on a group of Highland Park high school students after they allegedly refused to hand over a bottle of booze.
Thirteen students were cited for underage drinking. Mish says some of the parents were irritated, “The attitude was, we have a lot of money, we have a lot of power, we’ll destroy your business financially.”
Mish says his company has the responsible to do the right thing, adding that his driver turned down the offer of a thousand dollars from the teens to look the other way.
School officials in Highland Park called the behavior of the students involved in the incident unacceptable, leaving no room for the defense that no matter however misguided the teens were, they attempted to make a safe choice by not driving themselves.

Limo Driver a courageous dude
Parents who contracted with the service knew upfront alcohol was forbidden. Now adults who are supposed to act like adults complain? God help me if I ever have to deal with these Highland Park parents, and I speak as a retired educator. Too many parents want to be buddies with their kids and forget that the parent is the rational adult.
