CALUMET CITY, Ill. (STNG) -- South Suburban police are looking for anyone with information about a shooting that left a 23-year-old Chicago man dead Friday night.
Calumet City police found Ruben Marcado of 8624 S. Houston Ave. in Chicago in a backyard at 437 Garfield Ave. in Calumet City after responding to reports of shots fired about 6 p.m. Friday, according to a release from police.
Witnesses told police four suspects fled the area in a boxy type vehicle.
Marcado was initially taken to Saint Margaret Mercy Hospital in Hammond, Ind., police said. He was airlifted to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead about 5:02 a.m. Saturday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. An autopsy will be performed later Monday.
