Toddler Drowns In Aurora Retention Pond

AURORA, Ill. (STNG)  -- A 20-month-old boy drowned in a retention pond Tuesday night after going missing from an Aurora apartment complex.

Police were called around 7:15 p.m. to Hunter’s Glen Apartments in Aurora to help locate the toddler, identified as Nathaniel Straser, according to the Kane County Coroner's office. The complex is located on Oakhurst Drive between McCoy Drive and New York Street on Aurora's Far East Side.

Officers found the boy floating in a retention pond and paramedics took him Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, where he later died.

An autopsy is scheduled for this afternoon.
